For 17 years I tried everything. Then I found what actually works, and it changed everything.

If any part of that sounds familiar , you're in exactly the right place.

I was a pastry chef who couldn't make peace with food.

I used to be right where you are.
And this is how everything changed.

I grew up in the era of diet culture, and I believed every word of it.

The 80s and 90s taught me my body was a problem. It took 17 years to unlearn that. Like most families back then, our kitchen was full of what convenience culture told us was normal. Nobody knew any better. That’s just what food looked like.

And like so many girls growing up in that world, I absorbed the message early: My body was a problem to be managed. The answer was always the next diet, the next program, the next fresh start on Monday.

I carried that story into culinary school, where I became a Le Cordon Bleu pastry chef surrounded by butter, sugar, and chocolate every day, while quietly fighting a battle with my own body I couldn’t seem to win. The irony wasn’t lost on me.

For 17 years, nothing stuck. And every time something didn’t work, I told myself the same story: that something was fundamentally wrong with me. Sound familiar?

Then I started asking different questions. What if the food we eat and the way we live are more connected to how we feel than anyone ever told us? That question led me to Nutritional Therapy and everything shifted.

I learned that my body wasn't broken.
It was designed brilliantly.

I didn't need another diet. I needed foundations:
a nutrient-dense diet, healthy digestion, blood sugar balance, quality sleep, and stress management. And for the first time, I stopped fighting my body and started trusting God with it.
That made all the difference.

Today my kitchen looks completely different. I cook real food, bake from scratch, and even mill my own flour at home. I'm not restricting anymore. I'm nourishing. And for the first time in my life, I have genuine peace with food and with my body.

That transformation became a calling. I became an NTP because I wanted to be part of the solution for every woman who’s been trying hard and still doesn’t feel the way she knows she was designed to feel.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

1 Corinthians 10:31

Caring for your body was always meant to feel like stewardship, not striving.
That’s the foundation of everything I do at Nourish & Abide.

A little more about me

I'm a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certified through the Nutritional Therapy Association, a Le Cordon Bleu culinary graduate, and the founder of Nourish & Abide. I'm also a wife, a mom, and a woman who spent 17 years looking for what I now help other women find.

I'm based in Colorado, and when I'm not working with clients you'll find me RVing with my husband, kayaking, riding bikes, or white water rafting. I've also been skydiving. Yes, really.

I believe your body was fearfully and wonderfully made, designed by God with an incredible capacity to heal. You are not broken. You just need the right foundation.

If any part of that sounds familiar, you're in exactly the right place.

Vitamin J
(Things That Bring Me Joy)

Favorite thing to make: Homemade ice cream from scratch. We love ice cream so much we had it at our wedding instead of a cake.

Perfect Saturday: Breakfast with my husband then a walk through the forest

Currently on my nightstand: My Bible every morning, and anything by Freida McFadden for fun. I love a good thriller!

Something surprising: I’ve been skydiving. Yes, really. And every summer you’ll find me whitewater rafting

Weekend adventure: Camping in our RV, kayaking, and riding bikes with my husband

Morning drink: Coffee with raw cream, splash of maple syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon

My kitchen confession: I grew up on Hamburger Helper, Hot Pockets, and Eggos. Now I mill my own flour. The full circle still makes me laugh.

Guilty pleasure: In-N-Out Burger. It's the only fast food we eat. Some things are non-negotiable.
